The End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) Project is a national and international end-of-life/palliative care educational program administered by City of Hope designed to enhance palliative care in nursing. Materials are copyrighted by City of Hope and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and are used with permission.
WHO: Clinical & teaching faculty from Massachusetts nursing schools
WHAT: An opportunity to learn how to effectively teach primary palliative nursing skills tomanage individuals with serious illness using the ELNEC curriculum. This course offers bothcontent and effective teaching strategies.
WHY: All nurses need primary palliative nursing education and skills when they willencounter individuals (adults and children) with serious illness across the health settings(nursing home, clinic, long term care, home, shelters, group homes, prisons, etc.) with myriaddiagnoses and conditions (heart disease, lung disease, kidney disease, cancer etc.).
COST: $400 -- Discounted rates available based on need.
MATERIALS: We will mail you the Oxford Textbook of Palliative Nursing (5th Edition) and aflash drive containing over 1,500 pages of valuable Palliative Care resources, including thematerials we will use during the sessions.
CONTINUING EDUCATION: 14 Contact Hours. Care Dimensions is approved as a provider ofnursing continuing professional development by The American Nurses AssociationMassachusetts, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center'sCommission on Accreditation.
