Unveiling our expanded research report

Publication Date: November 9, 2021

report

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us at the Summit. I can’t believe it’s almost been a month! Thank you to everyone who came.

Today we published an expanded research report with more detailed data on several of the findings presented at the Summit. A huge, enormous thank you to the sponsors, collaborators and community partners who were integral to this project. We are grateful for your time, faith and support.

And because we didn’t really have time for a normal question and answer period at the Summit, and because we HOPE the findings are prodding all sorts of questions in your mind, we’re going to hold an open session on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 11am to 12pm ET. I won’t be presenting the research, it’s really just a time to bring your questions, ideas, and discussion points.

Hope that you can join us!

Anna Gosline shares her experience in an op-ed: We are being told to do a lot of things these days: Wash your hands. Don't touch your face. Wear a mask outside. Stock the house with two weeks of food. Dust off your will. And make sure to complete your advance directive and talk to the people who matter in your life about your wishes for end-of-life care.

On October 14, 2021, we virtually came together to reflect on the findings from our latest nationwide research. We also heard updates from our Public Policy Working Group, Medical Schools' Collaborative, and Nursing Schools Taskforce. Through presentations, discussions and breakouts, we explored what it means to shift to an equity-first approach in all our work to improve communication and care for people and families facing serious illness.
