Initial POLST testing begins; EOEA is hiring!

Last week, the Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA) announced that small-scale clinical testing of the POLST Program elements will begin in June. Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington and Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, along with their local partners in EMS, Skilled Nursing Facilities, and outpatient practices, will lead the clinical testing phase. EOEA released a letter explaining more about this phase and what is expected of other care settings across the state during this time. Learn more about the MA POLST Program on the state’s website.
They also posted a position for the first-ever Director of our state’s new POLST (Portable Order for Life-Sustaining Treatment) Program. The POLST Program Director will not only serve as the first-ever POLST Program Director in Massachusetts but will oversee the transition from MOLST to POLST and the launch of the MA POLST Registry.
