Since many people turn to clergy during times of serious illness, clergy must have the training and insight to be able to both encourage congregants to have these conversations with loved ones and support them when they do.

A group of healthcare organizations, professional associations, and nonprofits interested in improving treatment for patients facing serious illnesses has a new executive director. Anna Gosline will take over the role at the Massachusetts Coalition for Serious Illness Care from Richard Averbuch, who has retired.

Gosline is listed among The Boston Business Journal's 2019 40 Under 40 honorees — an impressive group of burgeoning leaders making an impact on Massachusetts’ industries. They are doctors, young executives, law firm partners, entrepreneurs and innovative nonprofit and civic leaders who still find time to give back and volunteer in their communities.

The Massachusetts Coalition for Serious Illness Care, a Boston-based coalition of more than 100 Bay State nonprofits that is seeking systemic change aimed at ensuring delivery of health care appropriate to all state residents, today announced that Anna Gosline has been named as its new executive director.

(Boston) – Massachusetts Coalition for Serious Illness Care (The Coalition) is pleased to appoint Anna Gosline as its new executive director. The mission of the Boston based nonprofit is to ensure that everyone in Massachusetts receives health care that honors their goals, values and preferences at all times in life, but especially in the face of serious illness. Gosline succeeds Richard Averbuch, who retired.
